The Perfect Wall Sconces
I've been looking for a pair of wall sconces for my family room. These vintage beauties make my heart go pitter patter. But I can't seem to justify spending nearly a grand on a pair. So I'm also thinking about these babies:
But they're not my first love. And nobody likes second place. Oh, the dilema. I think I should keep looking until my adreneline high wears off.

The first ones are awesome…but I really like the second ones too! = )
Oh those are amazing, I love Barn Light Electric. Have you checked bellacor.com? They have anything and everything that has to do with lighting. But I do have to say I’ve tried to find many lower cost barn light electric replica’s and its very tough, they are so unique. Good luck, I hope you show us what you end up doing! 🙂

Love that first light. I found it at CSNLighting, and it’s ON SALE! 🙂 It’s still not cheap, but it’s a little less than it would be otherwise. I fell in love with Hudson Valley pendant lights for my kitchen, and after I realized that nothing else was going to come close, I forked over the $800 for 2 pendants.

I love both of them!
Pottery Barn has a Leo Sconce that looks very similar to the first one. I love the second one too! Good luck!
I have to say I like the second ones more and not because of the price! Good luck finding one you love!
They are both gorgeous…probably better to go with the one you love, otherwise, you’ll always think about the ones that got away. I hope you can find something perfect at a great price point. Good luck.
oh no! i know you will find something that will make you happy and your wallet happy! good luck! i will let you know if i see anything!
The swing arms caught my eye. Sigh. Why must beautiful things cost so very much?
Definitely wait until after the adrenaline high either way.
Hey, I think you should get to make you a pair! I know for a fact they would be totally over the top awesome!
yeah, $1,000 might be a bit much, but you should hold out till you find the ones you love. Life’s too short to compromise.
I like both of them but I definitely wouldn’t pay $1,000 for the first ones.
These are so beautiful. I’d love to have these outside my house someday.

I really like the second one, good luck finding the right one for you
Oh wow – that is expensive.
Hard to settle for 2nd choice
Alison
could you not buy the second and find a replacement for the shade that looks similar to the first? I love the looks of the second ones body but the shade on the first has me…
Love, love, love the first one. For me, the exposed bulb on the second might seem harsh indoors where I might want a softer light. You will look at them and always wish you went with the first love. Keep searching, though. You’ll soon find the one that will make the first light your new second choice. Happy hunting!
hmmm … i’m all about justifying big purchases (with etsy earnings). maybe search a little longer and see what comes up.

Oh yes, beautiful. Both are very beautiful. Sconces are expensive! I learned that when I tried to find ones for our living room. Eeek! I ended up doing ‘fake’ sconces…they don’t actually work. Although I do have lamp shades on them just so that they ‘look’ like they do! ; )

I would really think twice about the second choice – looking at a bare bulb is very harsh and not easy on the eyes. We never buy light fixtures with bare bulbs showing.
Have you ever noticed that when you get your heart set on something, it always turns up in the most unexpected place. I’ve got a feeling you’ll find twins for those lights at a more reasonable price. I’ve got faith!

These are both terrific picks! Sconces are such a classic look in decor…love them!

I have to say the first ones are just so sleek love them, I hope you find something similler at a better price Heather if not quick go & get the first ones before some one beats you to them 🙂
I like the first one also! Check Restoration Hardware or Lowes. I love Lowes! I don’t know what’s in your neighborhood, but love the markdowns.Happy shopping! Liz
The first set are timeless in design. Thru personal experience I can guarantee that you will not like the exposed bulb in the second pair.
Weigh the difference in price between the two and divide that number by the number of years you will look at your second choice and say to yourself “I should of bought the pair I really loved”. They will seem reasonable then.
However if you plan on changing them out again in a year or two then keep looking.
I know these are not an exact match to say the least…but they do have the same vertical slide and can have a multitude of shade options.

I love schoolhouse, they really give a classic feel and allow you to customize every part from the fixture, shades, switches and even various light bulbs. I hope this gives you more options.
These are $441.00 each and they look identical. Its from Circa Lighting..Pimlico swing lamp.
Hope this helps.

I must say I like the second ones better. But that’s just me. Get what you love girl you’re the one that gets to live with them. 🙂
