FAQ’s

1. May I use your photos?

If you would like to share my work or use a few of my photos on your personal blog I’m very grateful and accommodating. I appreciate photo credit and a link back with use. I ask that you DO NOT post any of my photos to Tumblr or Flickr.

2. Do you accept products to review or giveaway?
As a general rule, I don’t do product reviews on my blog. On occasion I do accept giveaways if I know the person behind the product or feel that the item would be something my readers will absolutely love. For the most part, my giveaways are items I purchase myself as a gift to my readers. My full disclosure policy is at the bottom of this page.

3. Can I send you photos of my house, shop or sale?
Yes, of course! As an editor, I’m always on the lookout for fresh homes and features. Please limit it to two or three photos and include a short note regarding the location and details. An extra bonus goes to those homes and shops that have never been featured or published.

 4. Do you sell a set of plans or directions to your chicken coop?

I’m very happy to report that we now have architectural plans for Chez Poulet available at coopplans.bigcartel.com.

5. What are your paint colors, type of granite, flooring, drapery fabrics, etc.?
I try to remember to mention details within each individual post. My go-to paint colors are Benjamin Moore Super White for trim, Decorators White and Simply White for walls. For a bit of color I love Opal Essence and Fieldstone by the same maker. Our granite is Millennium Cream, flooring is imported Italian tumbled travertine and drapery fabrics are discontinued. As are the drapes. Our home is a constantly changing canvas and there is always a home improvement project in the works. Always.

6. How do I start a blog?
I would suggest visiting any of the blog platform websites such as Typepad, Blogspot or WordPress. All will have a help section to answer your questions. My advice…just start. Find a hosting service you like, take a few photos, write a few words and you’re off! I’m from the “Learn as you Go” school, if we all waited until we knew everything, nothing would ever get done. Don’t be afraid to mess up or take a bad photo. I’ve done it and survived. Just try to enjoy the process and remember once you’re over the learning curve things will be easier for you. Good luck and have fun!

7. Will you be hosting any more special events?
Yes, of course! Details of upcoming events will always be posted on the blog. I have a few things up my sleeve. Just waiting for the right timing. Events are such a blast how could I ever say no?
