Friday Favorites: Sweet Peas
Aren’t Sweet Peas such darling, old fashion flowers? I bought a few bundles from a roadside flower stand, and they smell like heaven. I plan to scatter small bouquets all over the house this weekend. Our weather is breezy, and I hope the scent carries throughout the entire place!
Years ago, I used to grow them, but can’t remember why I ever stopped?
Maybe in my next garden…
And just for you, some inspiring Sweet Pea links:
Tips on how to plant and grow them from seed.
Wish I had thought of making a wreath. So lovely.
To celebrate the most romantic occasion.
So every day can smell like spring.
Almost too beautiful to eat.
And my favorite, Sweet Pea Bakery!
Have a gorgeous weekend, my friends. xo, H

I can almost smell them from here! Gorgeous!! Happy weekend!
Thanks, Yvonne….enjoy yours as well!
Sweet peas are so,…. well, SWEET! Love them.
Me too! My mom used to have a dog named Sweet Pea…and she was just that!
Beautiful photos…..I love that jar….my maiden name is Weatherhead. 🙂
Really? Maybe your family owned the factory where the jars came from?
Beautiful! Your pictures always inspire me, I guess it’s too late this year but next year there will be Sweet Peas!
Next year for both of us! Have a beautiful weekend!
OH how beautiful! When we were first married our neighbor had self sowing sweet peas that came up on the fence between our houses each and every spring. She encouraged me to pick as many as I wanted on our side of the fence all spring and early summer! It was truly lovely to have small vases filled with these truly breathtaking flowers placed throughout our home! It is one of the things that I miss desperately but hope to rectify next season!! Thank you so very much for sharing!
What a wonderful memory for you. They are such nostalgic flowers for so many of us.
I planted sweet peas and they are just starting to sprout through the ground. I plant them every year and you just can’t match their magical scent…wish mine were blooming already!
Good for you for planning ahead! Next year…I need to get on it. Enjoy your blooms!
Very beautiful and the colors are perfect! 🙂
Thanks, Tinajo! It’s hard to improve on what nature gives us!
How lovely…Sweet Peas were my Mom’s favorite flower & I used to grow them…I’ll have to get some seeds & try again. Thanks for the inspiration.
You’re welcome, Debbie. I will be planting them next year, for sure!
Beautiful photos! I don’t think we can grow sweet peas here in Texas. It is too hot and dry! Sunflowers do very well here though.
My goodness, those are pretty! I don’t think I’ve ever seen them for sale around here…I’ll have to ask about them next time I visit the florist. I was happy to find one of my floral favorites recently…ranunculus. Love those!
Your photos took my right back to my grandmother’s garden. So pretty!
