Ink & Peat

Hands down, one of the best parts of my job is all the shopping. Lots and lots of shopping. I get the opportunity to see some of the most fabulous shops and boutiques across the country and my visit to Ink & Peat in Portland was one of those magical places.

The first thing I noticed was the color. There was a beautiful wash of lovely color throughout the store. Amazing turquoise, sage greens, poppy, crimson and pinks were scattered among the displays. It was absolutely refreshing!

There was a wonderful selection of quilts and blankets made from vintage saris and an incredible assortment of soaps, candles, stationery and handmade pottery. And in addition… they offer gorgeous florals for every occasion!

Everything was so thoughtfully selected and merchandised. It is the perfect place to find a gift for a friend or pick up a great book for yourself.

And don't you just love this amazing chandelier? The simple design with it's mass of bulbs is so striking. I'll take one of those please. The shops mix of modern, industrial and vintage was not only unique but was also displayed creatively.

And I cannot go without sharing with you the owner and creator…dear Pam. Here she is cutting and prepping my flowers for my shoot. She graciously drove me to the Portland Flower Market so I could choose the perfect blooms and then helped by preparing them for their car ride to the coast. Such a warm, friendly lady with an amazing eye for detail and beauty. Her shop is a true gem and a reflection her spirit and talent. If you're visiting Portland be sure to make time to visit and if you're unable to make the trip you can follow Pam on her blog housemartin.
