Breakfast

Grabrk3
Normally, I don't take photos of my breakfast. Mostly because they are incredibly boring, like toast with peanut butter or my current favorite, sourdough toast with avocado and a sprinkle of sea salt. But I was at Fresh & Easy the other day and noticed they had some beautiful freshly baked Granola Scones and decided to try one with my morning milky coffee.

It was very wholesome…made with buttermilk, whole wheat and oat flour, orange peel, whole almonds and sunflower seeds. Very extravagant in terms of my breakfast routine.

I added a little of my favorite Fig Jam to the plate, but it really wasn't needed because it was so flavorful and delicious. Such a nice change from my normal morning of blandness.
Tell me, how was your weekend? Any big plans for the week? Are you glad it's Monday or do you want to crawl back into bed and pretend it's Sunday?

Your breakfast looks delicious and I will have to look for some fig jam, I’ve never tried it. Big plans for the week…work, work, and more work. I hope yours is a good one.

That sounds delic. I must admit I wish I could crawl back in bed and pretend it’s Sunday. The weekends go by too fast.

OOOO… need a starter like yours! Delish! Coffee to help me get started, and no getting back under the covers! I’ve got gardening to do! YAY it’s nearly Spring! <3

That looks yummy:) And makes such delightful photos!
I did kind of crawl back in bed and pretend it wasn’t Monday. I’m still recouperating from a really bad sinus/strep mess. And I still feel pretty cruddy. Very bummed that I had to feel so yuck on a nice sunny day. Glad spring in Ohio will eventually come.

Baking fresh ccones are pretty routine around my house, especially when I have my fresh goats milk/buttermilk on hand! YUM! They’re so easy to ‘play’ with by adding a few seasonal ingredients!
This week I’m playing with bleach pen art!

That scone looks amazing! If I lived near you, I’d zip over and grab one right this minute! I like your regular breakfast option, too! I often do almond butter on toast, but I never thought about spreading avocado in the morning. Great idea! My go-to breakfast is Fage with dried fruit and all kinds of nuts…or a scrambled egg on top of toast. I love breakfast!

Those granola scones look de-LUSH-ous!! And I’ve never heard of fig jam but now fancy myself as a new fan! Oh, and I’m covetting your coffee cup, btw. So elegant!

Love, love, love avocado and a sprinkle of salt on my toast. But in Nebraska people act like you are crazy if you put avocado on your toast. I think you should share that “boring breakfast” so I could show people that I al not the only one eating it. It is a lovely if you lay thin slices on your toast instead of spreading it. 🙂
