Seaside Summer

Summer1_edited-1

Summer is almost over. I can hardly believe it's nearly gone. It just came and went with a poof. Not that I'll miss the 100+ weather but I will miss all the seaside activities that make summer so special. Like seeing all the boats lined up in the harbor with their tall masts and nautical colors.

And a few scattered sailboats along the coastline. It's always so relaxing just to watch them out on the water. Then there are these super cute baby shore birds enjoying the ocean at sunset…

What will you miss from summer? Picnics, ice cream, swimming or maybe sleeping in? Yep, that's probably the winner. Especially for all of you with kids heading back to school. But then again….on the bright side, they're heading back to school!

    Another beautiful post Heather! Today it was freezing in San Francisco (65 degrees), and Monday through Wednesday it was so hot (95 to 100 degrees)! As they say…”summer in San Francisco”! :-}
Thank you for sharing your lovely photo’s.
Have a wonderful rest of your week.

Wish we were headed for the ocean…maybe a cool fall weekend. We will definitely miss the late lazy nights and sleeping in. Sailboats aren’t part of our summer view but when the corn starts to turn, we know fall is just around the corner. Thanks for the look at your part of the US.

I do hope we don’t have a short summer. Where I come from we are still going through an icy cold, wet winter but Spring is just around the corner…I hope!!!! Loved your shots of the boats.

In my neck of the woods we are looking forward to summer ;-), the best thing about summer must be Al fresco dining!

This summer has really flown by. We normally have much hotter weather here on the Central Coast but this was such a mild, sweet summer it seems as if it’s just been a long spring instead.
I’m just quite ready for winter yet.

Our short lived summer, I am holding on to all the sunshine I can. I don’t care for the heat, however! I will miss the sitting on the deck on the warm summer nights. Um. Maybe bundling up will be the answer. Florence

The smell of hot dogs sizzling on the barbecue grill, the way my stomach rumbles in response to the aroma and carefree evenings bathed in the evening’s golden light.

Well, I won’t miss the humidity of summer in Atlanta, but I will miss the light evenings, flip flops, t-shirts and butterflies.

I will miss sitting in the evenings on my deck watching the fireflies and listening to the crickets. And watching the shooting stars! Enjoy the rest of your summer! Victoria Lynn

Hi Heather! Here on the gulf coast of Florida, it’s always summer…..I long for cool days and mountain weather. I guess it’s what they always say, the grass is always greener……loved your post and photos : ) ~ xo Joy

Aaaaand now I really want to throw out everything I planned to do today and drive out to the Outer Banks for the day…
I’ll definitely miss the long days and the hazy sunsets of summer (viewed, sadly, this summer from inside an air conditioned room, since being outside has been to risk bursting into flames spontaneously…) 🙂
    G’bye summer!

    Hi Heather,
Summer always goes by so fast. I’ll probably miss having warm hands and feet the most! Once the cool temperatures come, I live in wool…which is warm and cozy in its own way.
Happy end of summer to you,
    Trina

I’ll miss my college graduated kids being home before moving on to new adventures. But living in a vacation destination, I won’t miss the traffic or the speedy pace of some of the tourists who can’t seem to unwind. I’ll miss warm beach days, but then again maybe we’ll have a lovely Indian Summer. It’s nice to reflect on this. Thanks for your post!
