Palm Springs Getaway

Pscoll4 The Man and I decided to take a quick trip to Palm Springs over the weekend. The drive was beautiful with clear blue skies, fluffy clouds and crisp air. We paid a visit to the Ace Hotel & Swimclub which is such a cool place with it's mid-century modern decor and retro vibe.

There's always lots to do from renting scooters or bikes, hanging out by the pool, taking your dog for a stroll or grabbing a bite to eat at the King's Highway Diner.

And a trip to Palm Springs wouldn't be complete without a delicious mexican lunch on the patio at Las Casuelas Terraza. This landmark restaurant has been in business since 1958. On Sundays you can relax and enjoy the live band. And they make the best Mango Margaritas!
If you go you must have one. Must.

So how was your weekend? Any highlights? Or even better…have you ever had a Mango Margarita?

Weekend was uneventful. I live in Missouri and it has warmed up a bit but still not warm enough for me.
I have had a mango margarita…..I believe it was in Mexico. I also got hooked on their mango yogurt…..delish. It is hard to find around here.

Looks like a wonderful break. I’m not a mango fan so I’ll skip that for a pina colada!

my hubs and i love to visit Palm Springs. we were planning a quick get away for tomorrow for our anniversary but alas, my hubs is recovering from hip surgery so we will be going in April for a raincheck anniversary trip!!! I will have to make sure to try that mango margarita!

Sounds like fun. I haven’t been to Palm Springs in years, but used to go there with friends when I was younger. Living in the high desert for quite a few years now, I don’t seem to want to visit the “low” desert like I once did 🙂 Beautiful photos and that food looks delicious!!
    Blessings,
    Marcia

Aaaaah, this is why I love living in Arizona! We drove over to San Diego last week-end, and yes, I have had a Mango Margarita. Miguel’s on Coronado Island is the place. The food is wonderful and you can walk off the calories across the street at the Hotel Del. It’s the bomb-digity!!

No, I’ve never had a Mango Margarita.
Or any Margrita for that matter.
    I’m a beer drinker. 😉
Love the tiles on the table at Las Casuelas Terraza!

The first Margarita I had was a mango one!! They are my favorite! Made a quilt for my grandson over the weekend. Also opened an etsy shop. Busy weekend. Hope you had a fun trip!

What wonderful photo and what looks like a wonderful weekend. I am so drawn to Mexican pottery and tiles. My dinner plates are varying talavera pottery dishes. Just discovered your blog and am excited to add another favorite to my list!

    Hi Heather,
What a fun getaway. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photographs – there is no place prettier than our Southern California in the winter with the sun shining and snow on the mountains. I have had lots of different margaritas – but have not had a Mango – sounds yummy.
Speaking of yummy – Congratulations on the new issue of Flea Market Style magazine – it is yummy and fabulous – love all of the flea market finds, junk makeovers, charming cottages and fun ideas – especially loved Ann Perry’s adorable garden house and the article on “shirts” I am off to the Goodwill to look for vintage shirts.

My “man” and I always make a point to eat at Las Casuelas when we are there! Super Yummy!! We went up to Carpinteria camping and explored the vintage and thrift stores in Old Ventura. Cool place 🙂

Oh that Mexican food is making my mouth water– Never had a mango margarita, but just had a pomegranate on in Dec. It was fabulous! Happy weekend to you.

  26. Suzanne

Oh, please tell me what that dish is called. I must find a recipe and make something similar. I’m too far away to be able to afford to get there and eat the real thing. But the next time I’m in California,(ha!) I will be sure to eat there. *big sigh*

Hi Shannon, my husband Scott and I went there on our 3 date over 21 years ago. We love their food, wish we could have had that for dinner tonight!
