Country Living Shoot
Hello friends! I just returned from spending a few days up the coast doing a shoot for Country Living. Thought I’d share a few highlights with you. I ran out of flower buckets so made due with various watering cans. These are the flowers that didn’t make the cut but aren’t they pretty all lined up? Pretend you don’t see the trash can and floating debris in the background.
The homeowner has a beautiful apple orchard and I couldn’t help picking a few branches. Now I want an apple orchard. In a real bad way.
When I’m on location, my favorite source for produce would be local farmstands. For this shoot, I was able to get fresh homegrown organic vegetables at this honor system stand. I picked up what I needed and left my money in a barrel (which happened to be heavily guarded by a sleeping cat).
You’re going to LOVE this story! It will be in the upcoming March issue and I’ll be sure to let you know when it hits newsstands.
For now, I’m off to let Santa Baby know I’d like an apple orchard for Christmas.

Don’t bad mouth that beautiful galvanized garbage can! It looks great with the other galvanized, although with a nice patina, watering cans. I love your blog.
That’s the best honor system veg stand I’ve ever seen- sweet.
We had apples in our fruit orchard- but the early frost and deer took care of that…..Oh but I love apple blossoms- divine.
We love having apple trees. Though we only have one mature, high producing one at this time, it puts out enough for our needs! (It’s a McIntosh=yum!) Love your photos! Can’t wait to see what’s in the magazine!
Hugs, Heidi
Sounds wonderful. Can’t wait to see the story come March, Heather.
Looking forward to the feature! We have so many of those farm stands in Michigan…honesty still exists!
XO,
Jane
I would like an apple orchard as well and that farm stand looks a lot like Classic Organic off the 101 near Nojoqui. Oh wait, that IS Classic Organic (just noticed the name on the baskets) Love that place! Small world!
And, all that metal mixed with flowers is quite pretty. Swoon!
Just stopping by wishing you a nice weekend! 🙂

Wow, can’t wait to see it. Country Living is one of the few magazines I still subscribe to and seeing your layout in it will make me love it even more!
I love my little apple orchard. I have 3 dwarf apple trees, takes me back to my childhood in the apple orchards. Florence
