When I was shopping the flea markets in Paris, I came across a vendor selling antique ephemera and bought some beautiful old French receipts from him. Although I framed a few, I was always wondering what else I could do with them. Finally, an idea struck me…they would be great to wrap French baguettes as take away party favors!

I scanned them into my computer and made a pdf with two antique French receipts per page. Their unique size was the perfect length to wrap around a standard baguette.
All that was needed was to print, cut, and seal them with double stick tape. A small embellishment of twine was the last touch.

    Heather,

Hello! I’ve lurked about your site for what seems like ages (I’m not sure but I think I found your blog via my cousin…. I can’t remember if she knows you or just recommended you.) I just got back from France (sheer exhaustion… 8 days with 40 teenagers doing a whirlwind tour of France!!) and started go back over missed posts and what should I find… the perfect accompaniment to baguettes. (something i used to bake on a regular basis which my family misses dreadfully… yes i’m starting again.)

Thank you so very much for sharing! (i might have to pick your brain for france recommendations… we plan to return but this time with my husband and for a more extended period of time at a much more leisurely pace.)

How kind of you to share the lovely French printables. I don’t make bread but I will surely find something suitable to wrap these in. I’m also covering little boxes and cubbies, these will look so good with large crystal and pearl beaded handles for them, thanks a lot!

These are absolutely adorable! I am anxious to use these with my easy homemade French bread recipe! Thanks for sharing!
