Sweet Pea Bakery
Sweet Pea Bakery is the sweets & treats vendor at Rutiz Family Farms…among other places. Kelli Smithback has a passion for baking which is quite evident in her offerings….
She has a LOT of cookie choices….everything from Snickerdoodles to Thumbprints and more. The ones below are called Bleeding Hearts, a cookie she developed as a nod to the Twilight phenomenom. They’re so delicious! Reminiscent of a Pop Tart but made with whole wheat flour and homemade raspberry jam. So really, nothing like a Pop Tart.
One of Kelli’s friends, Kirsten, went to pastry school to learn breadmaking and brings loaves of freshly baked breads to the farm stand.
Doesn’t it all look scrumptious? And I can’t think of a better way to shop for produce and a few treats. It’s much more pleasant to be outside on a farm than inside a flourescent supermarket!
Well, that’s the end of my calorie laden post. Let’s all get on the treadmill, shall we?
PS. My next post will have nothing to do with food. Promise.

Hey…you were in my neck of the woods π It is such a lovely quaint farm. They have an awesome selection of gorgeous fruits/veggies. I am a huge fan of farmers markets and supporting our local growers! Your photos are amazing Heather π
How I wish I could live near something like this, I would go weekly to stock up on goodies π
How wonderful to showcase such a great farm and market…There is a grass roots movement that is very evident here in BC as well to continue to support the farmersβ€ …they have a great advocate in you!

Yummy! I would love to have been there too, but, since I’m off carbs and sugar recently, I think the temptations would’ve been impossible to avoid. It all looks AMAZING!

Everything looks so yummy and the photos enhance your products so well.
Everything looks so delicious and her display is very pretty in its simplicity. What a great spot to shop and you are right, way better than a supermarket.
