Antiques Week Part One: Color!
I'm back from my whirlwind trip to Texas and had a fantastic time! We filled an entire 20ft trailer and truck bed with everything we bought. Lots and lots of great stuff. Will share that with you when the trailer makes it back to California.
In the meantime, I wanted to share with you some of the highlights for me. First up…COLOR! This post is for all you gals out there who crave some color in your life.
There were plenty of gorgeous vignettes with bold, saturated, vibrant colors. And believe me they stood out. I found them utterly refreshing among the sea of neutrals.
Aren't these yellow leather chairs unbelievable? They were from my friend Susan Wheeler's booth. She'll also be at Farm Chicks this year. Can't wait to see what she brings.
Pillows are always a quick way to inject color into your home and there were so many made out of gorgeous antique textiles. Just beautiful.
What do you think of the pop of the orange walls? I think it makes an incredible backdrop to their furnishings and is something completely different.
And I adored the chippy turquoise paint on this antique urn. What a statement piece that would be! Which brings me to my last colorful photo….
I really wanted to bring this enormous lobster home for The Man but there wasn't any space left in the trailer. Ahhh. And, he would make me hang it up in the house. So the photo will have to do for now. Until we buy a seafood restaurant.
Hope you enjoyed this dose of color inspiration! Don't worry lovers of white, neutrals and grays…I have something for you too. My next few posts will be just for you. :-)

Oh Heather,
Everything is so beautiful!! I see a couple of things I would have loved to have! I love all of the beautiful colors. Especially the beautiful turquoise glass jars in the first photo. And that green vintage bed is to die for! Can’t wait to see more photos, glad you had fun!
Sincerely,
Melinda
You know… i love color and yes it was refreshing to see these lovely vibrant and bold yellows and oranges. I must admit it is not me, however… i do love it and appreciate them. I hope your week has been off to a good start so far.
Smiles,
Sheila
Those are absolutely wonderful photos! Next time, I will absolutely, positively have to stay long enough to check out the Round Top scene. Gorgeous!
And speaking of, it was fabulous to get to meet you at the blog party, as I said in my post, you are every bit as nice and approachable as you are beautiful.
See you in the Fall, hopefully!
All the best,
Anne
Gorgeous stuff and images Heather! Can’t wait to see the grays, neutrals and whites post. 🙂

Heather,
I love your blog, I look at it often. I am a lover of white so I cant wait to see your white and neutrals pictures. I too went to Warrington this past weekend for antique weekend. Only, I live in Texas and its only an hr an a half from where I live. I have been going since 1996! I love it. I posted a few of my pictures on my blog this morning too.Not as great as yours and mine were all taken from my camera phone! But take a peek.

Gorgeous! Heather, is there a link to any of these dealers on line? I am especially interested in the trims and laces.
Great photos! Makes me feel like I was there! Love all the blues and turquoise color…the orange wall? not so much..lol….but it did make their items stand out! Looking forward to your next post with the grays and neutrals! Take care, Laura 🙂
I’ve been reading your blog for so freakin loooong and am never disappointed! I don’t know how you survive the market. If I were to walk through I would just die on the spot. The first pic alone had me at HELLO. I wouldn’t know how to act seeing so many beautiful things all at once in person. I know the outcome though, I’d be a one hour special on Hoarders. Totally.
thanks for the wonderful photos…i’ve been looking forward to round top photos for weeks now:) i think that the orange walls look absolutely beautiful and vibrant…but every time, my thought is this: i love it, but i could not live with it!

Can’t wait to see what you are shipping home.

OK, we need to talk! How on earth could you go without me?!?! 🙂 I’ll be you ate BBQ too. Didn’t you?
Missed seeing you this trip but know you had fun. Is there any chance you could mention on your posts where they were taken if possible. We only went to Marburger but would love to know if most of yours are from Warrenton or a big mix. Since you were there several days, it may be too hard. Didn’t see booth I recognized in those wildly colorful pics but things change moment to moment, day to day. Glad you enjoyed.
Fabulous photos! Thank you for sharing your Round Top adventures with us! ~ Angela
Oh Heather! Looks like you had loads of fun. My favorites are the blue goblets, the yellow chairs and whatever is between the chairs! Looks like it would be a fun table base. I went to Matilda’s Mouse finally. I found lots of treasures! I bet the Man is glad you’re home!
Karen
Thanks for sharing. People do not mind if you take pictures?? Or do you know them??They are great.Love the yellow chairs and color and whites. Laura
Hi Anne,
It was very nice to meet you as well. I hope you had a great time and brought home lots of treasures!
Best,
Heather
Hi Peggy,
These were all shot at the Marburger Show. I believe their website has a listing of all the dealers in their show. Not all dealers have blogs and/or websites and there are hundreds of booths. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Best,
Heather
Hi Karen,
So glad you went to Matilda’s Mouse. Isn’t it fantastic?
And yes, he’s very glad I’m home. I really missed him this trip.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Laura,
No, they don’t mind a bit. I do have to say that I had a Press Pass for Flea Market Style Magazine and wanted to get some shots to possibly feature in upcoming issues.
You never know what you might find and it’s always good to scout future stories no matter where you are!
Thanks for visiting today!

Hi Mary,
Yes, I think the orange wall was beautiful for their space. It isn’t my cup of tea…in fact I don’t even like orange. But for some reason it stopped me in my tracks.
So I suppose it worked wonderfully for them!
Best,
H
drool, drool…
you’re killing me over here! Awesome finds.
Lara
Lovely finds!

The colour is wonderful and those leather yellow chairs have my name all over them!!!!!
Hi Heather! This is wonderful! I can’t wait to see what shows up in your shop. I also wanted to tip you off to another really great show, although it might be too far away for you to travel. No one seems to be really aware of this one: http://www.metrolinatradeshowexpo.com/
It’s in Charlotte, NC and acres of just loads of stuff; prices good, too! Thanks for sharing, although I might need treatment for junk lust from a 12-step program after looking at your posts!
Girl, when you say color…you mean color! Beautiful images and the orange sure got my attention. So glad you made it home safe and sound. It was a joy to see you again.
Debbie
OH MY….LOVE IT ALL !!!!
I think the antique turquoise urn is a tire turned inside out, still attached to the rim on one side. The base is the wheel and the urn area is the rubber. I’ve seen these around, but never seen one with such beautiful color and patina!
You beautifully captured some wonderful treasures!!
Heather,
I could have gone crazy here…such wonderful things to choose from! I can’t wait to see what is in your trailer. The yellow chairs are gorgeous!
Oh, wow. I would’ve been tempted to buy everything I saw! So many beautiful things. Love your photos, too!
It’s all wonderful, Heather. Thanks for sharing! Steve and I always go to the Fall show but my heart was sad all last week knowing what I was missing =)
If you go to the Fall shows this year, we’d love to meet up with you. Perhaps and T. Cano’s party?
Glad you had a good time. Can’t wait to see more. Blessings… Polly

Hey Heather,
you have some really fabulous photos. This in no way shape or form looks like a flea market. However, here is a question for you. All of these fabulous finds, frenchy finds and just plain funky finds look expensive? Is any of it affordable?
I’m a fan of anything painted a robin’s egg blue! Will you be selling your finds on your website once they arrive back here? Or will you be offering them at an event, like Matilda’s Mouse?
xo,Cheryl
All I can say is “WOW”! colors are gorgeous!! the red! really popped it, didn’t it? Loved the pillow!!
glad you had a great time and thanks for sharing!
Pink Hugs!
